I’m letting my car warm up before I drive home (about 2:47am), but as a short note, I’m excited that Team 949Racing will be at Chumpcar 14-Hour at Buttonwillow today and tomorrow to compete in EC (exhibition class, i.e. real racing cars not eligible for cash prizes, but compete against other racing cars).
The goal here is mainly for the team to practice a race close to conditions for the 25 Hours of Thunderhill in December. However, that’s not going to stop us from winning EC and trying to do this event as if it was the 25 Hour. With the car getting a fresh tune and much needed upgrades to test key components of our car, we are hoping for a fun time, getting a good feel for working as a team and getting good practice driving at night.
For me, this will be my first legitimate race since race school. So I’m definitely excited, but anxious for doing well and learning a lot, especially using my new helmet with the radio system installed on it. This will be interesting…
Stay tuned for updates from this Saturday’s race and the events leading to it. And now I have yo drive home. Good night/early morning.
